After yet another weekend trip to the german bakery we ended up in the town center (Aotea Square) where they have all these little stalls etc. I never really looked at them because they all looked like clothes stalls. This time we actually strolled through them and saw this little Masala Dosa stall!!!! I could not believe it. I had two on the spot and they were yummy!
(update: the aotea market is only on Friday and Saturday)

With an German student staying with us, was glad to see your site about the Bavarian food shop…. THANKS
NOW I see you have a reference to MASALA DOSA – my favorite Indian food, hard to find in NZLD – can you tell me where in Auckland the stalls were – Britomart or Aotea Centre, etc…?? wonder if they are seasonal markets i.e. summer?
Also enjoyed your trips around Auckland – gave me ideas for taking my student sightseeing. THANKS
Joy
Hi Joy,
Cheers for the comment. I’ve updated the post with the location info (aotea square).
A few of ideas:
– think Veronika’s is closing (don’t have sausages/meats anymore)
– i’ve been told http://www.blackforestgourmet.co.nz is excellent.
– good dosa also at Satya.
– have you been to the Farmers market?
Anyways enjoy.
